Asbestos scare, major inconvenience

Room 312 in Harvey Hall that frequently filters students in and out was temporarily quarantined on Thursday, Feb. 18 due to an asbestos scare. Caution tape blocked the door and the thin rectangular window on the door was covered up for the remainder of the week.

After only one year as police chief, Wayne Stolpa stepped down at the beginning of February amid numerous accusations from Menomonie citizens that he had been "rude and unprofessional." There were also complaints lodged by several Menomonie police officers that were later withdrawn.

Mini-game loss ends hockey season

The University of Wisconsin-Stout men's hockey team ended its season last Saturday to the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point in a three-game series that eliminated the Blue Devils from the NCHA Peters Cup tournament.
