Now, it’s true that I’m not a TV connoisseur (“Iron Chef” is often the most intellectually-stimulating program that I come across in any given month, and I don’t get whatever channel has “Flight of the Concords”), and it’s true that there are diamonds in the modern rough, but I really feel that ‘90s TV was the apex of broadcast perfection.
Words are not just words. They may not be something physical but they still can function as a weapon that has been placed in ignorant hands.I don’t do the whole “irrational anger” thing, but I cannot stand the use of a particular F-Word. I am no violent maniac.
United Council is based on the premise that students are stronger together than we are divided. Our power is in numbers. To this end, United Council provides a forum to develop a unified student voice to important decision-makers like the board of regents, state legislature and the governor.
Has communication become misleading and is text-messaging replacing true emotions? Texting has become the way of life, and people text for fun, or because it is easier than making a phone call. (Wow, I guess people are lazy.) A new language is appearing and it is the world of smiley faces.

What does the Bible really say regarding homosexuality? How does one reconcile their cultural values and their sexuality? Why not include a comprehensive safe sex education in schools? What does it mean to be Hmong and a part of the gay and lesbian community? What does it mean to be two-spirited? What are the issues, struggles and concerns facing transgender people? These questions and many others are at the heart of the activities, discussions, films and panels planned throughout the month of October.
